First post

by Topper on October 8th, 2005

Well… this is my first post and I have to say no one is going to read this. However, I was just thinking about something (well… and using something on a Friday night ). Why would you replace your br tags with “div class=”clear” it doesn’t make any sense. For semantic markup – either one doesn’t work (both are presentational). Other than that – it’s more characters.

I forget who it was – but he was speaking at the web essentials 2005 conference and he said: “I’m a realist… I don’t think tables are evil” (that isn’t a direct quote – sorry whoever – I’ll try to correct my post if I ever notice a hit here).

Well. Personally, I think tables are mostly evil except when you are presenting tabular data. However, div class = “clear” seems even eviler (new word – you can do that on your first post).

My 2 cents on my first post. Sorry I didn’t say “welcome to the Topping Blog or something.”

  1. See you were wrong… I read it ;) I had a search term of “web essentials” set up on Technorati so thats how I found it.

  2. …..and I searched for “Paul Boag” (and got your next post). I’m not a stalker, really!
